Kirsty Wither
Born in 1968 studied at Gray’s School of Art. Exhibiting at the RGI and an invited artist to the Singer and Friedlander watercolour competition she has had numerous sell out solo and group shows in Scotland and the UK and her work is in many private and corporate collections worldwide.
She never draws from objects but her paintings evolve through memory and
time. She is constantly inspired by her surroundings, the sea hills, wild
flowers the idea of these filter back over time and appear on her canvases.
Building up layers of paint which takes over from the original plan and
then evolves. “the painting are as much about the actual paint on
the surface as about the subject matter”
