James Harrigan
Born in Ayr in 1937 and attended Glasgow School of Art. A winner of the Scotsman Art Competition in 1966 and the Laing Art Competition in 1990 he has exhibited widely in Scotland and the UK and annually at the PAI and the RGI and his work has been bought by many major corporate and institutional collections.
Rich luscious brush marks capture his surrounding Scottish and coastline
landscapes. Travelling to Guernsey or even Brazil he depicts the everyday
activities of the local people; an excitement of composition and colour.
