Joe Hargan PPPAI

Born in Glasgow 1952 he studied drawing and painting at Glasgow School of Art. In 1981 he was elected a member of the Glasgow art Club and a member of the Paisley Art Institute in 1985 and for 11 years held the Presidency for the Institute where he was awarded the PAI diploma for his service to art.

With many major solo shows in Scotland and the UK he is a regular exhibitor at the RGI, RSW, RSA, PAI, RA, National Portrait Gallery,The British Watercolour Society and the Dick Institute Kilmarnock. He has won a number of prizes and his work is in numerous prestigious collections worldwide.

Working in oil Joe’s paintings often highlight the contradictions and idiosyncrasies in the world through his skill as a satirical painter.
