George Devlin RSA RSW RGI
Born in 1937 studied at Glasgow School of Art. Won a Fellowship to Italy later crossed Sahara and worked in W Africa, on his return taught at GSA. Winner of Major Arts Council awards he later relocated to France. A member of the RSA, RGI and RSW, and past president of Glasgow Art Club he has had numerous successful solo shows in London Scotland and worldwide and his work is in major national and international collections.
Continuing the scottish colourist movement, his paintings capture the effect of light on his subjects: the reflected light on a French canal or reflected light in Venice and his strong use of colour evoking a synergy of emotions.
