Adrian Berg RA

Born in 1929 he studied medicine and english at Cambridge university from 1949-52 and went on to a high diploma in Education at Trinity College Dublin. After teaching he studied at St Martins, Chelsea School of Art and Royal College of Art between 1955-61.

He returned to Royal College as a senior Tutor from 1987-88.A retrospective exhibition 1955-80 at Rochdale Art Gallery followed by an exhibition at the Serpentine Gallery 1986 which toured to Walker Art Gallery Liverpool, and the Polytechnic Gallery Newcastle upon Tyne. He marked his 70th Birthday with a solo show at Royal Academy Friends Room coinciding with a show at the Piccadilly Gallery. Winner of Florence Biennale Gold Medal award in 1973, prizewinner of John Moores Liverpool Exhibition 1980/82.

Elected a Royal Academician in 1992 and Honorary Fellow at Royal College of Art in 1994. He awarded the National Trust Foundation for Art in 1987 and was commissioned a series of watercolours for the National Trust in 1995.
